Prospective new students for the 2026/27 academic year

Applications open March 2026.

If this is your first time accessing the accommodation portal, please REGISTER your details to receive a validation code BEFORE you proceed. If you do not receive a validation code, please check your spam or junk email folders first before contacting us. Some email providers such as gmail block emails when several arrive all at once. Please make sure emails from aston.ac.uk and unitestudents.com are always getting through. Google 'whitelist gmail' for instructions.

Applications are invited from 1st Year applicants for the 2026/27 Academic Year. Rooms will be available in William Murdoch and James Watt residences only. Please go through the application process to register your interest. Once validated, you will receive an email explaining how to proceed with your booking.

Postgraduate students can choose between 5 bedroom and 7 bedroom flats in the William Murdoch building only. Students studying for just one semester will be able to choose a 5 bedroom flat in the William Murdoch building or a 7 bedroom flat in the James Watt building.

If you have previously registered on the Accommodation Portal, please use your existing email and password details to logon.

By completing and submitting an application for accommodation at Aston University, you authorise the sharing of your application details with Unite Students, our accommodation partner.

Returning students for the 2026/27 academic year

For 26/27, the University has set aside 100 rooms for returning students in the James Watt building, block B2. Applications will open in December 2025 and they can be booked through this portal. There are some rooms in 5 bed shared flats and some in 7 bed shared flats. There will also be single gender flats available

All other accommodation applications for returning students on campus are now booked directly with Unite Students. This is for Lakeside, Harriet Martineau and Mary Sturge buildings. William Murdoch is still just for first year students only.

Foundation year students returning for the first year of their degree under an integrated 4 or 5 year course are classed as returning students and must apply for one of the 100 rooms above or directly with Unite Students.
